Have you been spending way to much time hiding your talents?  Coming up with excuses to not do this or that and not letting your inner self shine?

One of my most frequent mantras for small business is “Strategy Before Action” In other words, you must develop a solid marketing strategy before you ever consider any kind of action step. This intelligent basic business marketing strategy can get you stuck.  It can hold you up and validate all your excuses for not following through. I was recently in this situation and I was fortunate to come across a quote by Jim Carrey that states:

“To find real peace, you have to let the armor go.  Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world.  Don’t let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form. Risk being seen in all of your glory.”

When I heard this the first time, I had one of those awareness moments and was overcome with feeling; WOW, I thought to myself….be your authentic self!  Don’t hold back! Than it came to me; I need to let my light shine through in this situation. I not only need to do this but I need to reach out and help someone else!  Yes! That’s it!

When we as humans get oppressed, it is almost like we are putting chains on our arms and feet and we lock down. Our spirit get’s broken and we hide. The clever ideas that we were pondering all get axed instantly.   Lord, that can kill a business quickly. Good entrepreneurism is born on ideas and creativity not on boring text book rhetoric. Being stuck in a rut and holding ourself back can be like we are putting our minds in a self made prison.

It is time to stop holding back our greatness.  Stop being oppressed and rise up.  It is a brave thing to shine your light. But if you don’t you will live a small, barely visible life. Show up, be seen and bring with you that best authentic idea that is boiling up in you.  It wants to jump out!
